Kurt Russell is one of the popular American actors who started appearing on TV at a very young age. The success of Kurt Russell seems to be quick with fewer obstacles as he started working on television at the age of 12. Not only did he start working but was pretty successful in it. Many people knew him at a very young age and that clearly shows how successful he was in what he did.

The early career of Kurt Russell

It all started after 12 years of his birth. At the age of 12, he was acting on the television for a western series The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters. Thereafter, he directly signed a long contract of 10 years with The Walt Disney Company.

He got exposure easily because he is the son of Actor Bing Russell and dancer Louise Julia Russel.

However, his first role was uncredited where she was at “It happened at world’s fair”. He then played many roles one of them was in the ABC series “Our Man Higgins”.

There were many roles where he got the credits thereafter.

He was signed by Walt Disney. According to Robert Osborne, he was known as the studio’s top star of the 70s. The big hit which got him so much stardom was because of the “The computer wore tennis shoes” It was a move in 1970. Right after the huge success of that move, he was in the next film is The barefoot executive. Both of these made him the superstar.

Did you know, Kurt Russell loved playing baseball? He was a switch-hitting second baseman for the California angles. It was a minor league affiliate. That is the reason why always wanted to become a baseball player and not an actor. His first career choice was a baseball player.

Ron Shelton had written Bull Durham which was about Crash Davis (a baseball player). Kurt Russell was all set to work for it as he was interested in baseball and would love to do a move on the same thing. However, the studio was not happy with the choice, and they later n cast Kevin Costner instead of Kurt Russell. That is the reason why he never made a baseball movie.

He was committed to the work he was doing. He passed up Star Wars to act in Television western. He was interested in playing the role but he chose The Quest.

One of the interesting Kurt Russell facts includes that he was paid twice the amount for a film. This was only because there were no chances that the audience would dislike him. It was a 1994 movie called Stargate.
