The same role also got him the academy award nomination. The nomination was for the best actor category. He then did a lot of roles in films such as Viva Zapata, On the Waterfront, etc. After On the Waterfront, few people were thinking his acting was missing something. However, it was not so as he also won the Oscar for Best Actor in a leading role for the film “On the Waterfront”. He did a few different roles thereafter.

From 1963 to 1971, he started thinking that acting was at the financial end as he was not up to the mark. Critics criticized him for altering the script. This was mainly due to his self-indulgence.

However, things were different in 1972 when Brando’s career was back on the perfect track. It was when he played Don Corleone in The Godfather. He received an academy award for being the best actor. He even won the Oscar for his acting in the iconic film The Godfather. However, Brando rejected the Oscar.
