Ingrid Bergman was a Swedish actress and had done many American as well European films for which she is famous. She was born on 29th August 1915 in Stockholm in Sweden. If you talk about her personal life, she faster was Swedish and her mother was German.

As her mother was German, she spent most of her holidays in Germany. Like you might have guessed, she was fluent in German too. Her mother wanted her to become an opera star and even helped in becoming so. She took her to voice lessons.

As her mother died during her childhood, she suffered a success.

She used to act in her school as she was good in three languages. Ingrid took part in all the dramas which involved ay of these languages.

During her first summer break, she was hired by Swedish Studio. This was at the beginning of her career in the film industry. This was the same time when she left her school.

Career

Her career started in 1935. She didn’t have any big role in her early days. She played an extra in the first film. Later on, with the experience, she got other films that were also in Swedish. All this was in the Royal Dramatic Theater.

Later on, after gaining experience, she left the theater to pursue a full-time career in acting. Ingrid’s first role after that was in ocean Breakers. If you have seen this movie, she was a fisherman’s daughter.

She worked hard and got roles in good movies. Later on, she shifted to the US for her first move which was Intermezzo: A love story.

There were some of the problems that occurred because she wasn’t good in English as well as she was a bit tall for her role. She was also filming Gone with the Wind at the same time. Due to her hard work and consistency, she performed very well. Directors and magazines used to appreciate her a lot for the hard work.

Not just English and Swedish, she even did some of the best Italian films with Rossellini. This was in the years between 1950 and 1955. She got the role in many films and did well.
